Legoland Malaysia, the Maybank Castle in HDR

The centrepiece of the new Legoland Malaysia, the Maybank Castle is lovely. The facade for the popular Dragon roller coaster ride, it’s going to be one of those must-see attractions of the park.

I’m generally not a fan of HDR photography, simply because the processing is easily overdone and the image can become pretty harsh, and unsightly contrast halos appearing everywhere. A bit like walking a tightrope, falling over is just an inch to either side. Despite the pitfalls, it can produce fun, stunning results, and acts to create emphasis and drama to a scene.

The shot below was taken with a Canon 5D Mark II, 17-40mm f4.0 lens. Processing to HDR done via 3x exposures, using HDR Efex Pro. Click through the image for the larger version on Flickr.
